In the summer of 1997, high school baseball players, primarily from Roosevelt, Garfield, San Gabriel, and St. Paul were recruited by the former head coach at St. Paul, Leo Gutierrez, and Mark Viramontes, to form the first ELA Dodgers Connie Mack team. Al Cone, the head coach at ELA College was gracious enough to offer the ELA College baseball field and facilities as our home field.
