The East L.A. Dodgers are members of the Southern California Collegiate Baseball Association (SCCBA), NBC Baseball. We are also members of the Metro League in Stan Musial Baseball (AABC). Our collegiate wood bat team is built on pitching and defense. Our team strength is in the fact that our pitching and defense will give us an opportunity to win each game. Offensively, our primary focus is to have a high on base percentage in order to give us more chances to score. Our philosophy is to put the ball in play, cut down the strikeouts, advance runners, score early in the game, and put pressure on the defense. Because of the wood bat regulations, the power game is minimal. Therefore we like to put the runners in motion, take the extra base, bunt, etc. Offensive execution is a key to our success. For local conference and non-conference games, we will be suiting up about 15 players: 3 pitchers, 2 catchers, 5 infielders, 4 outfielders, and 1 designated hitter. Each player will be informed one week in advance which games he is expected to participate in. For tournaments and overnight stays, we will suit up all those players who are invited to participate in that particular tournament or series. Players must let Coach Leo at least 24 hours in advance if he is unable to participate in a game. This will give us a chance to get a needed replacement. Because we pride ourselves in being a family, we owe it to each other to do whatever it takes to win. Our ultimate goal is to get to post season play, and to win the World Series in August. The team always comes first! Failure to hustle, showing up umpires, throwing equipment, disrespecting the game will not be tolerated. Stay with your own guys. Do not talk trash to opponents. Wear the uniform right. Play hard and love the game. The team uniform is as follows: East L.A. Dodger jersey, white pants, pro style L.A. Dodger hat, black or blue cleats, royal blue belt and socks. Players will not be allowed on the field with any other attire. |
